We do not see etiquette as a set of rules children need to memorise. We combine modern etiquette with communication and social skills that help children respond with confidence in different real-life situations.
We Learn by Doing
Children do not develop social skills simply by listening. They need to experience, try and practise them.
That is why our programmes give children opportunities to greet others, introduce themselves, start conversations, express their opinions, cooperate, set boundaries and work through real social situations.
We are not looking for perfect behaviour. We want children to gradually develop an inner sense of confidence:
“I know what to do. I can speak up. I can stand up for myself. And I can still respect others.”
Etiquette is the starting point. Respectful confidence is the goal.
Knowledge opens doors. The way we relate to others keeps them open.
WHO IS BEHIND BONTON ZA OTROKE?
Bonton za otroke was founded by Urša Batis Savnik, an educator with more than 25 years of experience working with children.
“Throughout my work, I have repeatedly seen that a child can know a great deal and still feel unsure when they need to approach unfamiliar people, speak up, express an opinion or stand up for themselves.”
That is why I now bring together my educational expertise and many years of practical experience with modern etiquette, communication and social skills.
Professional Background
I studied at the Faculty of Education, University of Ljubljana, specialising in preschool education, primary education and early English language teaching.
Over the years, I have continued to develop my professional expertise in communication, behaviour, leadership and contemporary approaches to teaching and working with children. I have also completed NLP Diploma and NLP Practitioner training, as well as international etiquette training at The International Etiquette and Protocol Academy in London.
My most important classroom, however, remains more than 25 years of direct work with children.
Why Bonton za otroke?
Because we are not preparing children only for their next grade. We are preparing them for life among others.
I want children to know how to approach others, speak up, listen, express their opinions and stand up for themselves – with confidence and respect.
I call this respectful confidence.
